feasibility study for masterplan
sustainability and energy strategy
the development of a mixed-use 100,000m2 masterplan next to the olympic stadium in kiev, ukraine. the strategy, which takes the project to riba stage 1, will deliver all services to the site consisting of retail, hotel, and office buildings.
mstep has been appointed to analyse and develop the brief and sustainability goals, review the local and regional sustainability requirements and optimise the energy strategy.
mstep have advised the client to create an ambient loop such as found in the houses of parliament to circulate water around the site. this way, individual heat pumps could fulfil all heating and cooling needs with mixed usage and peak times of buildings allowing for efficient energy sharing.
creation of the loop and supporting earthworks will require intensive planning and operational oversight.
